I ran my eye over today's cards in the Racing Post, and I found it hard to agree with the man on the betting shop tannoy, who was quite overcome with excitement at the day's racing. I think we shall have to wait for the Ebor festival for racing that warrants such enthusiasm. Nevertheless, there's some interesting races on today, though I avoided taking an interest in the gimmicky 'greys only' race at Newmarket. In the big race, the Great St Wilfrid over six furlongs, I choose Addictive Dream, not solely because one of my fellow punters had to ask the clerk how to spell the horse's first name, but because I think he likes Ripon.
I have gazed upon the entrails, and this is what they tell me:
Newbury 305: Brown Panther
Newmarket 320: Dimension
Ripon 330: Addictive Dream
Newbury 340: Dubawi Gold
