I don't understand why so many people in racing have been worrying about the end of the flat season, claiming it needs a big event, analagous to Cheltenham and Aintree at the end of the National Hunt season. The structure is very well-defined and understood, unmistakablt part of the English autumn, and today's Cambridgeshire is an important landmark.
