It amuses me that my selection for the International Stakes, Hitchens, who may or may not be named after the journalist described once as a 'drink-soaked former Trotskyite popinjay', is described in the Racing Post this morning as a 'progressive three-year old'. In the main race, neither I nor the bookies can see Aidan O'Brien's Duke of Marmalade, at 8/11 in Coral just now, being beaten.
