Bonfire Night

Hooray: Bonfire Night in Lewes tonight, a new Pope to burn and a German reactionary to boot, nas opposed to a Polish reactionary (the last one), or an Italian reactionary (most of the ones before that back to St Peter). See this in the FT
One should note though that the robust democratic traditions of Bonfire Night in Sussex have nothing to do with religious bigotry; when loony Orange fascists from the north-east of Ireland turned up to try to muscle in on the celebrations they had their ears boxed and were sent home snivelling.
