On a beautiful morning, I accomplished a new PB for the Bevendean Down #parkrun of 30:52. Not very impressive, you might think, but remember the hill. My PBs for the flat Preston Park and Hove Prom events are 27:29 and 26:58 respectively. The mighty Sweder joined me and his account of the event may be found on Running Commentary.
It was only a little over a week ago that I managed to convince myself that my hip was packing up. In the long watches of the night, I wondered if I would have to have a replacement, and how long it would take to get back to running afterwards. I imagined the orthopaedic surgeon’s gallows humour in consultations before and after the operation. Given this, the osteoarthritis in my knee, the COPD and a few other complaints too tedious to recite here, improvement is very cheering.
