Hard work here, 6.75 miles on Tuesday, 10 miles yesterday and 6 today. I am looking forward to my rest day. I made the most of the contrast between London and Sussex. On Tuesday I ran along Regent's Canal as far as Camden Lock, through that curious hinterland of the British Library, overlooked by the crazy Gothic of Gilbert Scott's St Pancras station, and today on a tourist route, down to Waterloo Bridge, along the Thames path by the south bank, and back over the Millennium Bridge to St Paul's. In between I ran a ten-miler round Seaford.
All of these runs took place in freezing northerly or north-easterly winds, and I did not thank the estates department when I found the showers running cold after today's run. Perhaps they believe that cold showers build moral fibre, and prevent impure thoughts.
The wine fairy has visited, with a whole case of gorgeous wines from Adnams. I shall be firm and leave them in the rack until 10th April.
