To my horror, I have not posted for over two weeks. That's not to say that I haven't been training, though to say it is going well might be an overstatement.
Here's a quick summary of runs since 23rd March to bring me up to date and ready for tomorrow's Jog Shop Good Good Friday Run in Brighton.
Friday 27th March: five miles along the front to the sailing club and back. Weather: yes. Distance: 4.95 Time: 50:43 Pace: 10:14
Sunday 29th March: this was supposed to be eighteen miles, but the toe pain caused me to truncate it at a bit over 15 and I limped home, walking up some of the last inclines. I went out to Firle Beacon and Beddingham Hill. Distance: 15.51 Time: 2:56:02 Pace: 11:20
Wednesday 1st April: a morning run along the front. Distance: 3.69 Time: 38:25 Pace: 10:24
Saturday 4th April: the run to the end of Newhaven East pier and back. Distance: 7.23 Time: 1:13:26 Pace: 10:09
Monday 6th April: the longest run of this training programme, meant to be 20 miles, in fact I cut it short at the end, again because of toe pain. I ran to Saltdean and back along the cliffs. Distance: 19.69 Time: 3:39:21 Pace: 11:08
Wednesday 8th April: a very enjoyable evening run with the Seaford Striders. I fumbled with the Garmin, failing to start it after we paused to regroup near High and Over., so the true figures, which include the 0.6 of a mile jog to the assembly point and back are probably a mile and ten minutes more than these. Distance: 6.4 (7.4?) Time: 1:03:34 (1:10?) Pace: 9:56
