I'm now halfway through my training, which is an encouraging thought, and I have touched no alcohol for most of this period. Again, I leave it until I have several runs to record, including the long run, taken, not on Sunday, but on the bank holiday Monday.
On Friday I ran out to Frog Firle and High and Over and returned by a slightly longer route, going, instead of my usual way down the Alfriston Road, down the side of the field to the east, passing the tramp I sometimes see there, who always seems to have a bleeding head wound.
On Saturday I ran a shorter version of the same route, around four miles I think, as the Garmin battery gave out.
Friday:
Time: 57:37
Distance: 5.39
Pace: 10.41
Saturday:
Distance: c 4.00
Total mileage this week: 13.59 (but made up for next week with two long runs)
Five weeks till the Firle 20K
Nine weeks till the Beachy Head Marathon
