A grey morning and I thought not too cold, though I was glad of an extra layer on top of the hills, where the wind was biting. I went out from Seaford to Firle Beacon, then on to the Beddingham radio masts and on to Itford Hill, where the South Downs Way starts its descent to the Ouse valley.
I met rather more runners than usual; I asked a group whether they were from a club and one shouted back that they were, the Cobras, I think, some of his words were lost on the wind.
